Insurance service fees
We charge a service fee of $79 for newly bound policies and $49 for renewals. We do not charge endorsement or claim handling fees. Our broker fee is non-refundable.
Policy changes in the first 60 days
Changes such as adding or removing a driver or vehicle can't be made during the first 60 days of a policy. This applies especially to financed New York State Plan policies.
Refunds on financed policies
When a financed policy is canceled, the insurance company sends any refund to the finance company, and the finance company mails the check to you. LJ Insurance Agency doesn't control that process or its timing.
Auto and homeowners cancellations
An insurance company can cancel an auto or homeowners policy for reasons such as unpaid premium, significant risks found during an inspection, or not meeting the policy's conditions. Refunds can take up to 90 days.
DMV services
Our DMV service fees are non-refundable. DMV fees are set by New York State and are separate from our fee. Registration costs depend on the vehicle type and weight, whether it's new or a renewal, any outstanding fees or penalties, and local sales tax.
