When should you transfer plates?
If you sold or traded in your old car and bought a new one, transferring plates lets you keep your plate number and usually costs less than starting a new registration.
Insurance for the new car
Your New York insurance card must list the new vehicle and say REPLACEMENT VEHICLE. Call or text us and we can update your policy before your visit.
