Buying from a private seller?
Bring the signed title from the seller and a bill of sale. If anything is missing, we'll tell you exactly what you need before you make a trip.
Need insurance first?
New York requires New York auto insurance before a vehicle can be registered. Our licensed agents can quote and bind a policy in the same visit, so you can register right after.

How much does it cost to register a car at LJ?
Our fee is $79. DMV fees, such as the registration fee, plate fee and any sales tax, are charged separately and paid to the DMV.
Can I get my plates the same day?
Yes. We offer Same Day DMV Services. You leave with your plates, registration card and sticker.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk-ins are welcome at all 4 Queens offices. You can also book a 15-minute time online so we're ready for you.
Do I need New York insurance to register?
Yes. New York requires a New York auto insurance card to register a vehicle. If you don't have one yet, we can quote it for you.
